A man from Blumenort has been arrested after he was found in possession of a stolen vehicle this week.
On Tuesday evening, at approximately 10:45, Steinbach RCMP received a complaint of a vehicle that was stolen from an address on Hanover Street in Steinbach. Twenty minutes later, officers located the vehicle on Barkman Avenue with a male sitting in the driver's seat.
Thirty-six-year-old Paul Claeys of Blumenort was arrested and charged with Possession of Property Obtained by Crime over $5000, Knowingly Possess a Prohibited Weapon, Possess a Weapon Dangerous to the Public and Fail to comply with a Weapons Prohibition Order.
Claeys was remanded in custody. His first court appearance was Thursday.
The investigation continues and further charges are pending.
