The Hanover School Division will soon begin construction on a parking lot by the Blumenort School.

Secretary Treasurer Kevin Heide says the division bought a vacant lot adjacent to the school for $135,000, back in December of 2017. Until recently there were some outstanding loose ends

“We were just waiting for land titles and subdivision approval to go through,” explains Heide, “and now that the deal is final we’ll get working on it in the spring.”

Heide notes that the division will not be paving the parking lot at this point in time. “We’ll just remove some trees, put some gravel down, and set up electrical plugins.”

The purpose of this parking lot is to move staff parking further from the school making the area safer for kids. Construction should be finished by the beginning of the 2019-2020 school year.
