Niverville Town Council approved a conditional use permit for a proposed 9-unit commercial development on the west side of the community.

Mayor Myron Dyck says there was no opposition to the development proposed by Westside Properties Incorporated at their public hearing.

"We are obviously, as council, excited about seeing commercial entities want to be in our community and we are looking forward to seeing what this will be. From what we have been shown, it is going to be single level commercial buildings, some attached, some detached and in the parking lot that will be on the south side of the 311 and in close proximity to our golf course."

the site plans that were presented to town council show a 9-unit development with two larger multi-unit buildings and a stand-alone building with a drive-thru. Dyck says council is always excited when businesses show interest in moving to Niverville and they are eager to see which businesses will be setting up in this new development.

"As a community grows you start to reach a tipping point for some of those entities where now it becomes a viable option for them and they need to have the customer base and they need to have the employee base to be able to do that. That is just a part of growth and it is starting to happen now and we are excited about it."

Dyck says the conditional use permit for the proposed development was approved subject to a development agreement.
