Providence University College has already raised just shy of 89% of their fundraising goal.

Impact 2020 was officially launched in September 2016, a campaign to raise $12.5-million in five years. Development officer Cody Quiring says close to $11.1-million dollars has been raised to-date due to the strong support from many individuals including alumni, friends, and faculty members.

"It comes back to the community that we have around Providence and the vision and the mission that are here. We have supporters that truly believe in wanting to create Providence to be a top-tier Christian university, Canadian Christian university, and I think we're on the climb to make that a reality."

Quiring says through their campaign they have seen an increase in people supporting Providence, which has contributed to the success of Impact 2020.

He adds there are five main areas the money is being raised for.

"Number one is our Providence fund, number two is campus enhancements, our third priority is program developments, our fourth is endowed scholarships, and our fifth is staff/faculty development. Each priority has its own direct ways of really influencing the student experience and educational pursuits."

Quiring adds there are projects they have already been able to complete or initiate due to the funds currently raised.

"We could talk about the brand new welcome centre for student services, we could talk about the new science classroom and the state of the art laboratory, our renovated seminary classroom, campus safety increases, and the list goes on."

He says this fundraising campaign will also continue to raise funds for scholarships to enable students to have further opportunities.
