RCMP have provided additional information in regards to the early morning collision on Sunday involving a vehicle and a pedestrian.

The 911 call came in shortly after 2 a.m. and emergency crews responded to the scene on Highway 52 approximately one-and-a-quarter miles west of La Broquerie.

Steinbach RCMP found a 60-year-old female from Sandilands was driving eastbound on the highway when she struck a 42-year-old male pedestrian from La Broquerie who was pronounced dead on the scene. The female driver was uninjured.

RCMP say the female driver was found to not be intoxicated. They add it's unclear whether alcohol was involved in the collision.

An RCMP Forensic Collision Reconstructionist is assisting with the ongoing investigation.

Stars Air Ambulance attended the scene and La Broquerie Fire Chief Alain Nadeau says they left without the male pedestrian after it was determined his injuries were too severe.
