The Southeastern Manitoba Festival registration deadline is coming up at midnight Friday, December 1st.

Candace Georgijevic is the Vice President of the festival. She says if you have waited until Friday to register your student or child it is too late to send in your forms by mail but you can drop by the Steinbach Arts Council and sign up in person. She notes they expect the number of participants this year to be very similar to last year.

“It sounds like most of the disciplines are holding their own like last year. All our adjudicators are now signed and booked and everything so it is rolling along. It is an exciting time for us now because are going to start putting the program together as soon as we get all of the entries in and so it is really starting.”

Georgijevic says they expect approximately 3,000 entries and they are starting to get excited for the beginning of the festival in February. She notes this has been a busy time for music teachers as each entrant needs to know what they will be presenting at the festival.
