The Tache Fire Department was called out just before 1 pm to what was initially a five-vehicle collision, two miles east of Lorette on Provincial Road 207.

Once crews arrived on scene they noticed very quickly that it had become a ten vehicle collision due to today's slick conditions. Fire Chief Allan Rau explains.

"We had a vehicle trying to pull another vehicle out of the ditch and because of the wind conditions and the blowing snow, a vehicle traveling east struck the truck that was trying to pull the other vehicle out. Because of that, people started slamming on their brakes and sliding into the ditch. We have ten vehicles total here."

Rau says they had four tow trucks on scene pulling people out of the ditch. He adds PR207 was closed for over an hour while crews cleared the scene but should now be reopened.

Rau notes there were no major injuries.
