The South East Prairie Thunder are heading home from the east coast and the Allan Cup is not part of the team's luggage.

The Prairie Thunder gave up six third period goals and dropped an 8-4 decision to the Lacombe Generals in the semifinals of the 2017 National Senior "AAA" Hockey Championship in Bouctouche, New Brunswick.

Matt Lowry had a pair of goals for South East who had a 3-2 lead heading into the second intermission.

Dennis Rix, Sean Robertson and Myles Bell scored during a two-minute-and-twenty-four seconds span early in the third period for the Generals.

Lowry's second of the game 6:13 into the final period cut the deficit to 5-4 but Lacombe tacked on three more goals and punched their ticket to Saturday's championship game.

Shane Luke and Reid Gow also scored for the the Prairie Thunder.

Southeast was outshot 42-23 by the Generals who will face the Grand Falls-Windsor Cataracts in the final.
