It was back in 1994 that a Steinbach minor hockey team had an undefeated season that ended in a championship.

That changed on Thursday night when the Steinbach Millers Novice A team defeated the Mitchell Mohawks 6-3 to win the Eastman Championship.

The Millers had an impressive 16-0 record during the regular season.

The hardworking and every improving group went into the first round of the playoffs and defeated Niverville two games to none.

In the final round, it was a tough contest vs the Mohwaks but the Millers were able to come away to cap off the perfect season.
