We've seen this before from the Eastman Selects.

Round one

Eastman trailed the Winnipeg Thrashers two games to one in their best-of-five Manitoba “AAA” Midget Hockey League quarterfinal and won game four at the Sun Gro Centre in Beausejour and then two days later took the deciding fifth game at the Gateway Arena in Winnipeg.

Round two

The Selects trail the defending champion Winnipeg Wild two games to one in the semifinals and win game four Sunday at the Sun Gro Centre to force a winner-take-all game five Tuesday night at MTS Iceplex.

Noah Morin made 26 saves as Eastman rallied for a 4-2 victory over the Wild in game four.

The Selects staved off elimination by scoring three times in the final 20 minutes.

"It was a great comeback by the boys," said Eastman head coach Dennis Senebald. "The first two periods we were kind of struggling a bit. We talked to the boys in between the second and third. We were hoping they would come out with an effort. Our backs were against the wall like in the Thrashers series. Definitely came out with everybody going in the third period and it showed on the scoreboard for sure."

Cole DeKoninck scored the tying goal 2:11 into the third period and sealed the deal with his second of the afternoon with 1:42 remaining in regulation.

Dallon Wilton, who put the Selects ahead 3-2 with a power play goal while the Wild were two men short at 15:27 of the the third period, said DeKoninck's goal early in the final frame gave the team a huge spark.

"I think it motivated the guys," said Wilton. "It got us going and gave us a lot of momentum. We got a real big push near the end and needed that. It was good."

Burke Heide got Eastman on the board with a power play goal midway through the second period.

Kyle Bettens and Reece Vitelli scored in the first period for the Wild.

Selects forward Matthew Osadick says they know that to expect in game five.

"Just come prepared and work hard. It's a great time. It's always a good time in playoffs."
