The Eastman Raiders have changed up their jerseys for the upcoming season and also have given their logo a re-vamp as well.

The season is set to kick off on August 11th and President Charli Champagne is looking forward to the new changes. "We were going to purchase brand new jersey's for the upcoming season and Scott Toews from Silver Eye Sports suggested revamping the logo and that was the kick off to all of it. We now have our logo revamped and we're getting ready to have a brand new look and feel for the season."

Champagne knows it's important to keep the tradition that the Raiders have built in the Southeast. "What we didn't want to do was toss aside the old and bring in the new. What we've done is really upgrade the current logo, keeping the feel of the Eastman Raiders and the legacy. We've also opened things up for a retro day with the old logo."

The new styled logo will be on new jersey's which Champagne notes will be much improved for the players. "The jersey's are not the old heavy jersey. There's no stitching involved and the kids are really going to love them, they look really sharp."

The Raiders are also jumping on board with the First Down Program which is making its debut in Steinbach this year which is geared to getting kids between 4 and 7 into the game of football.

Champagne, who finished her Community Sports Utility training will be head coaching the team along with her son. She breaks down what the program is all about. "We are looking at getting every kid involved in touching the ball, kicking the ball, throwing the ball, just learning how to move so that when they hit the age 8 program, they already have built up skills. If kids don't want to get into tackle football, this is a great way to stay in the game."

The program starts August 14th and runs through October. Details on how to sign up can be found http://eastmanraiders.com/
