The Steinbach Pistons surrendered three goals in the opening period and after a brief comeback attempt ended up dropping a 4-2 decision to the Selkirk Steelers on Tuesday night.

First Period Woes

Both teams came out in the first and put up shots with Selkrik finally finding the back of the net near the midway point.

Two more goals followed in the span of around 6 minutes and the Pistons were behind the eightball trailing 3-0 after 20 minutes of play.

Powerful Second

The Pistons were able to get back into the game with a pair of speical team markers in the middle frame.

First, it was Declan Graham scoring his first of the year on the power play from Troy Williams to cut the lead to 3-1.

They were able to get another step closer when Tyson McConnell scored also on a power play to make it a 3-2 hockey game. Graham picked up his second point of the night on the captains 13th of the season.

Steinbach pushed but were not able to get the game squared up and headed into the third down 3-2.

Midway Putaway

Selkirk was able to put the game out of reach with just under nine minutes to play.

The Steelers also had the edge in shots over the final period 16-11.

Steinbach couldn't find any more offence and were handed a 4-2 road loss.

Matt Radomsky got the start and finished with 36 saves on the night. The power play finished 2 for 4 while the penalty kill finished 9 for 9.
