Day six of the 2019 Western Canada Summer Games will begin Wednesday.

Phase one sports included softball, basketball, canoe/kayak, soccer and beach volleyball. Phase two sports include athletics, baseball, diving, golf, rowing, tennis, triathlon, indoor volleyball and wrestling.

Manitoba athletes have won 80 medals including 29 gold, 26 silver and 25 bronze.

Manitoba's female softball team defeated Saskatchewan 8-1 in Tuesday's final to capture gold. Erika Vermette (Morris) and Val Gonzalez (Winnipeg) and Isaiah Olfert and Justin Cross (Winnipeg) won gold in Beach Volleyball. Our province's male and female basketball teams won bronze. The female team beat the North West Territories 71-46, while the male team downed the same province 80-43. Manitoba's female and male soccer teams will both bring home silver medals.
