Earlier in the week, Ste. Anne product Jocelyne Larocque was selected to be on the All-Time Women's Team Canada team.

Larocque said that it was something that she definitely didn't see coming. "I was pretty shocked" she said with a laugh. "I honestly was shocked, surprised and extremely honored. When you look at that roster, I remember watching in the '98 Olympics, 2002 Olympics and to be on a line with one of them (Therese Brisson) that I idolized and many I watched when I was a kid, it was humbling. I feel honored and I feel proud."

While looking over the roster that was compiled by TSN, Larocque admits she has thought about what it be like to be in the locker room with all those amazing women. "It would be a riot! There are many I'm fortunate enough to know and I know it would be a lot of fun. Players like Cassie Campbell, Danielle Goyette and Pounder and Kellar (Cheryl Pounder and Becky Kellar, known as the Bobbsey Twins), those are two defencemen who, when I started on the National team program, they were seasoned vets that I always looked up too. They took me under their wing, showed me the ropes and we had a lot of fun, a lot of great conversations. It would be a riot, it would be a lot of fun."

Being on the team is an honor but being placed on the second defence pairing is also something that Larocque got to enjoy. "(Laughs) I'm not complaining" she said when asked about getting those second defence pairing minutes. "That's a huge honor. Even just to be on that roster is amazing. I've had a lot of fun looking at the other rosters TSN has put out so as a fan, it's been great getting to see what other teams have. Just to be a part of it, I feel very honored."

For fans to see and be reminded of players that helped build the women's program to what it's become, Larocque feels is also a real positive. "Women's hockey has been around for a long time and there are some amazing players that are already in the Hockey Hall of Fame so it's something to be recognized and acknowledged. It's important for the growth of women's hockey and it's great that TSN took that step and hopefully there's more steps to follow."

As excited as she was, Larocque says her family might have been even more proud. "I spoke to my grandpa and I could just hear in his voice how proud he was. It was something I could never have expected and I just feel very honored. It's something that, once I'm retired, I can look back as something I've accomplished and I can feel very proud. Team Canada is the best team in the world so, it's pretty amazing."
