Brett Davis was chosen in the sixth round of the 2017 NHL Draft in Chicago and Travis Hamonic is now a member of the Calgary Flames.

Davis, who played in the Manitoba “AAA” Midget Hockey League with the Eastman Selects, was picked 163rd overall Saturday morning by the Dallas Stars.

The 18-year-old Oakbank product recorded 18 goals and 15 assists in 59 games with the Western Hockey League's Lethbridge Hurricanes and Kootenay Ice this past season.

Hamonic, who received the NHL Foundation Award on Tuesday in Las Vegas, was traded by the New York Islanders along with a fourth round draft pick to Calgary in exchange for the Flames first round pick in 2018 and a pair of future second round picks.

The 26-year-old St. Malo native was selected in the second round of the 2008 NHL Draft and had 26 goals and 120 assists in 444 games during his seven seasons with the Islanders.
