Over the past weekend, the Steinbach Pistons drafted 6 new prospects into their system on top of the two auto-protected players during the 2018 MJHL Draft that was held in Winnipeg.

Here's a look at the newest members of the Steinbach Pistons organization

1st Round Pick - Ethan Johnson 07/05/2003 - Winnipeg Sharks B1AAA

Johnson, a left shot defender put up impressive numbers during the 2017/18 season registering 3 goals and adding 13 assists for 16 points in 32 regular season games. He continued to play well into the playoffs where he collected 2 goals and 6 assists for 8 points in 8 games. The Winnipeg native stands 5'11 and boasts impressive skating for being only 15. Already gifted with speed, Johnson also has the competitive drive to continue to improve.

2nd Round Pick - Neo Kiemeney 04/27/2003 - St. Paul's Collegiate HS2 

Kiemeney spent last season with the Ste. Paul Crusaders of the Winnipeg High School Hockey League. The right-handed shooting forward had 1 goal and 5 assists in 23 games. In the playoffs, he racked up 1 goal and 3 assists for 4 points in 6 games. Kiemeney was the youngest player on his team this past season.

3rd Round Pick- Zack Davis 07/08/2003 - Winnipeg Sharks B1AAA

The biggest player in the draft, Davis stands an imposing 6"4 and weighs in 250lbs. The mountain of a defender shoots left and put up great numbers from the blueline in the regular season finishing with 11 goals and 24 assists for 35 points in 32 games. Noted to have perhaps the highest upside in the entire MJHL draft. Physical tools already in place.

4th Round Pick - Avery Kirkup 01/28/2003 - Southwest Cougars B1AAA

Kirkup's a highly skilled forward that can drive goalies nuts with his slick hands. He put up a very impressive 27 goals, 30 assists for 57 points in 35 games played. Hailing from Souris, Kirkup's known for being a strong right-handed forward with smooth edges. Standing 5"9, 178lbs, there's room for the young man to fill out. 

5th Round - No Pick (traded to Dauphin Kings in Riese Gaber Trade)

6th Round Pick - Nolan Bettens 10/04/2003 - Winnipeg Warriors B1AAA (Pick Acquired from Waywayseecappo)

Bettens, a high skilled blueliner stands 5"8 and comes from Winnipeg. The left-shooting stud put up 5 goals and 8 assists for 13 points in 34 games played. 

6th Round Pick - Taggart Plouffe 03/31/2003 - Rink H.A. Nationals Bntm Prep

Plouffe stands 5"7 and scored 1 goal with 12 assists for 13 points in 30 games played. According to Amateur Hockey Report, Plouffe displays good all-around skills and have a nice offensive game. A playmaking forward that makes players around him better.

Ethan Unger and Dawson Smith

Unger scored 2 goals and 6 assists in 33 games played this past season for the AAA Eastman Selects. Also playing for the Selects, Smith registered 18 goals and 19 assists (37 points) in 36 games this season.
