The Southeast Artists Group Exhibit Opening on Wednesday, February 19th had a great turn out! Thanks to all who came to support our local artists.

Kim Gwozdz was the artist selected as the Southeast Artists Group spokesperson at the Opening Ceremony. She shared several interesting quotes:

"Painting is our way of communicating our thoughts; it may not always be understood by others, but we know what we mean." Marion Boddy-Evans

"I was totally absorbed! I was in another world, or another dimension; all sense of time evaporated." Prince Charles

"Artists are better at finding a way to kill time." John Baldessari

And then Kim said, "Southeast Artist Group was formed to give a home for local (and not so local) artists, to practice their painting abilities. We are a support group run by local artists to give guidance - weather it be in composition, color, or in exhibits. The SAC has allowed us to have a social gathering place to make new friends and exchange of ideas, and occasionally get to paint! I personally would like to thank the artists for the support and friendship that I receive every single week.

Thank you to Cindi & the SAC board for the use of Studio B. To Pauline and the office staff for the coffee, snacks and helpful support. Thanks to Gary Holden for his guidance in finding venues, such as the SAC, Clearspring Mall & Great West Life to display and sell our works of art."

After thanking everyone for coming, Kim invited the crowd to enjoy the paintings. And you can too! The Southeast Artists Group exhibit runs until Thurs, March 20th. Stop by the Hall Gallery at 304 Second Street and check it out! Or you may want to check out the Southeast Artists Group at the Cultural Arts Centre on Tuesday mornings, 9:30-11:30am.
