Film Night - Correction

The first order of business is to apologize to the MHV Auxiliary for listing an incorrect date for next week’s film night. The correct date is Tuesday, January 21. The event will take place in the MHV Auditorium.

Two films will be shown. Men Made It, Men Can Fix It is a 2012 film produced by local filmmaker Laszlo Markovics for MTS Television. It focuses on the history and work of Friesen Machine Works, a local Steinbach business with roots in the distant past. A number of local individuals are interviewed, and the grounds of Mennonite Heritage Village are featured in some of the scenes.

The other film will be one of Otto Klassen’s earlier productions, Prairie Pioneers. Most of the pioneers featured are Mennonites. This film illustrates various aspects of Mennonite life on the prairies from the late 1800s to the mid-1900s, a timeframe that is also covered by the artifacts, stories and exhibits at MHV.

Showtime is 7:00 PM, and admission is $8.00 per person, which includes homemade pie and coffee. Bring a friend.
