Police have made an arrest following an incident Tuesday morning in Lorette.

St. Pierre RCMP were notified at approximately 8:30 am, that a woman had been walking alone with her dogs along River Drive when a man followed her and threatened to kill her. The woman made it safely to her vehicle and according to police, the male suspect did not follow her to her vehicle.

Police attended immediately and conducted patrols in the wooded area. Officers saw the male suspect and chased him through the knee-deep snow, but were unable to apprehend him. However, they identified him and were able to attend to his residence to arrest him.

The 31-year-old has been charged with uttering threats against a person and obstructing a peace officer.

He has been remanded.
