The cleanup continues in the Whiteshell following heavy rains earlier this week. Some areas of the Whiteshell received more than 100 millimetres of rain on Tuesday, in what has already been a very wet year.

The heavy rain forced the closure of Provincial Road (PR) 312 after a culvert washed out. According to Manitoba Parks, PR 312 has reopened.

The underpass leading to Highway 1 at Falcon Lake remains closed due to flood water.

Also, Manitoba Transportation and Infrastructure is repairing the shoulders on Highway 44, about two kilometres south of PR 312. Motorists are urged to use caution, follow all signs, drive slowly and drive to conditions when coming up to or passing road work crews.

Crescent and Miller beaches in West Hawk have sustained damage from significant water runoff. However, they remain open for use.

Several trails remain closed due to flooding or washouts. The list includes Marsh Trail between Falcon Lake Marina and Beach Campground, TransCanada Trail from Howe Bay to the quarry and TransCanada Trail between Faloma and the Whiteshell Community Club.

Manitoba Parks is also reporting that some campgrounds may be impacted by recent rainfall.
