The federal government announced that September 19th, the day of the funeral for Her late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, would be a one-time federal holiday for core federal public services.

In Manitoba, all non-essential government services and offices will be closed September 19th in acknowledgement of the day of mourning. Schools will remain open and classes will be in session. Child-care facilities will also be open. The health-care system will continue to operate as usual

Locally, here are some of the openings and closings related to Monday.

Steinbach 

City Hall is open on Monday  

All scheduled recycling and garbage collection for the week remains unchanged.  

Unrelated to the Federal Day of Mourning: The Steinbach Aquatic Centre will be closed for annual maintenance from September 6 - October 10, 2022. 


Rural Municipality of Hanover 

The R.M. of Hanover is open on Monday 

All scheduled recycling and garbage collection for the week remains unchanged.  

 

Rural Municipality of La Broquerie 

The R.M. of La Broquerie is closed on Monday 

All scheduled recycling and garbage collection for the week remains unchanged. 

 

Rural Municipality of De Salaberry  

The Municipal Office and the landfill will be closed. 

To drop off your Candidate Nomination papers on Monday ring the office doorbell for assistance. The office will be closed for all other inquiries. 

 
Rural Municipality of Taché 

All Municipal departments, including the Municipal Office and the Lorette Solid Waste Management Facility will be closed on Monday in recognition of the Queen's passing.
