Environment Canada has issued a Severe thunderstorm watch for
Steinbach - St. Adolphe - Dominion City - Vita - Richer issued

Severe thunderstorms possible today and this evening.

This is an alert to the potential development of severe thunderstorms with large hail and damaging winds.

A slow moving trough of low pressure is triggering thunderstorm activity this morning. Further thunderstorms are expected to develop throughout the course of the day as this trough progresses eastward. Some of these thunderstorms may become severe with the main threats being large hail, torrential downpours and damaging winds.


Thunderstorms have popped up in parts of southern Manitoba this morning and are approaching Steinbach.

Rain, hail and strong winds have been reported south of Winkler.

And, close to two inches of rain is reported at Gnadenthal, west of Altona.
