A war bride from England says today is an important day, one we should never forget. It has been 60 years since the 1st ship pulled into the harbour in Nova Scotia carrying the women and children Canadian Soliders fell in love with overseas. Alma Carson was one of those women. She travelled from England to be with her fiance. Carson says initially, landing in Canada for the 1st time was overwhelming, but she quickly boarded the train to Winnipeg. Carson adds Remembrance Day is a very important day and affects so many people. She says in all the years she was married to her husband, she never heard him complain about what he had to do overseas.  In Steinbach, the Remembrance Day service takes place at St. Paul's Lutheran Church at 10:30 a.m.
