The sewer extension project on Loewen Boulevard is nearly complete.

City of Steinbach Engineer Aaron Rach says the contractor is planning to complete the road restoration paving this coming Saturday. Unfortunately, this will be somewhat disruptive.

“There will be temporary, full-road closures to Loewen Boulevard from Walnut Street to Old Tom Road, as well as on Hespeler Street from Lyndhurst Gate to Loewen Boulevard."

Rach says the closure should begin in the early morning on Saturday and traffic should be restored to its current state by the end of the day.

With that work complete, Rach says residents can look forward to two-way traffic.

“Both roads should be fully re-opened to two-way traffic by end of day Wednesday, weather permitting.”

Rach thanks the public for their patience as this project has taken longer than anticipated.

Construction began in mid-July and it was initially expected to wrap up in late August.
