As we come into the August long weekend, and while many of us look forward to relaxing and enjoying some time off, we also have a responsibility as Manitobans, to recognize Terry Fox day on Monday, August 2nd. 2021 marks the 6th year the civic holiday has honoured one of our Country's most inspiring and remarkable individuals. We were glad to be joined by Allison Doan, Provincial Director with the Terry Fox Foundation, who spoke with Golden West On-air Host Jayme Giesbrecht.

First, Allison took some time to reflect on Terry's Marathon of Hope. She talked about this being the 6th year of an official "day" to recognize Terry Fox and she shared how Manitobans have reacted to this special day and a whole lot more, including how Terry Fox's family members feel about the honour. You can listen in on Jayme Giesbrecht's conversation with Allison in the AM1250 Audio Vault.

We are hoping that more and more people will become aware that this isn't just "August Long Weekend" but much more than that, thanks to the legacy Terry Fox left with us.
