Team West lost it's opening game of the 2012 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge in Windsor dropping a 5-2 decision to Team Pacific. Nicholas Zajac and Remi Laurencelle did the goal scoring for Team West who were outshot 39-14 by Team Pacific. The game was tied 1-1 after the first period and Team Pacific grabbed a 4-2 lead after forty minutes thanks in part to a pair of goals from Sam Reinhart. Steinbach Pistons forward Denis Bosc and the rest of Team West is off Friday and will face the Czech Republic on Saturday.
