The Carillon Junior Sultans used a 4-run 3rd inning to help come away with their first win of the season, an 8-3 victory over Winnipeg South.

Cedric Legasse took to the mound for the first time coming off his 1st season of college baseball at Williston State and through a dominating 6 innings. Legassed struck out four while surrendering zero runs.

Tyler Plett came in and pitched the 7th.

Veteran Austin Friesen had a gem of an outing defensively at the hot corner as the 3rd baseman made several key plays, including two diving catches on hard-hit line drives.

Mason Hartun and Meech Nadeau led the way offensively. Hartung cranked out a double and triple while Nadeau chipped in with three singles.

The Sultans have a busy week of ball following Wednesdays nights game including a game in Whittier Park against the St Boniface Legionaries Friday night and then hosting the Altona Bisons for a doubleheader Sunday, May 28th at AD Penner Park at 1:00 pm and 3:45 pm
