Steinbach’s outdoor rink is now closed for the season

The city has announced the new outdoor rink is now closed for the season, wrapping up the first year for the new skating spot.

Last month, the surface was closed during a warm spell. It was reopened after some repairs and cooler weather.

This time though, the rink is closed until next winter. 

It was constructed in the fall at the intersection of Elmdale Street and Barkman Avenue after the old rink was torn down to make way for the new Southeast Event Centre. 

Skaters will still have an opportunity to hit the ice this month during free public skating sessions on Sundays at the T.G. Smith Arena.
