The Fire Chief for Steinbach says the safety of our firefighters could be on the line.  Mark Loewen is not thrilled about Industry Canada's proposal to allow hunters, skiers and snowmobilers to use the same radio bandwidth that emergency crews are using.  Until now, emergency services has owned this bandwidth and Loewen wonders why Industry Canada feels the need to use it.  The biggest issue is that other people could get on the radio during an emergency and interfere with the fire departments communications while they are at a scene.  Loewen says he won't get too excited about this until he sees the regulations.
