A similar snowman can be seen along Home Street in Steinbach. There are a few special snowmen stationed throughout southeastern Manitoba that are thanking essential service workers for their ongoing efforts.

One such creation was made by Janine Leippi and her two kids, Brayden and Alexia.

“Initially, we figured it was a perfect day outside,” shares Leippi, “and then we were thinking how can we inspire the people who are still needing to go out into these circumstances and provide the services that we otherwise would be without?” The result was a snowman with a sign.

Leippi hopes that even this small gesture of gratitude from her family can be of encouragement to those who are leaving their own families every day to keep society functioning.
