Following an investigation by the Office of the Fire Commissioner, it was determined that the cause of the house fire Monday afternoon was accidental.
The Steinbach Fire Department was called to the fire at around 3:45 P.M. on Giesbrecht Street near the intersection of Donald Avenue. When they arrived, flames could be seen billowing out of a front bay window and the front door.
Once the firefighters were able to extinguish the blaze, the Office of the Fire Commissioner was called to investigate. It has been determined that the total value of the damage is in excess of $400,000.
Fortunately, Steinbach Fire Chief Kel Toews says all three of the occupants were able to get out of the building.
