The Steinbach Fire Department saved a mobile home from a fire earlier today.

Deputy Fire Chief Ron Chausse says his crews were called to a residence in Aspen Grove at 12:30 PM this afternoon. When they arrived, they found the building filled with smoke.

Chausse says his crews performed a "rapid-fire attack" and were quickly able to extinguish the blaze. After a brief investigation, he determined that the fire originated in the laundry dryer.

While the house did suffer some minor smoke and water damage, Chausse says it remains livable and the homeowners will be able to return to it later today.
