The immigrant settlement office in Steinbach is doing some time management.  Kim Shukla with the Chamber of Commerce says they are finding that too much of their time is being taken up doing translation and interpretation.  Initially the service was offered to newcomers however lately businesses and the Regional Health Authority have been requesting it as well.  And that has taxed their small staff to the point where they cannot get their other work done.  So from now on the settlement office will only be offering the service to newcomers.  Shukla adds that alone will keep them busy enough as the number of immigrants to the area continues to increase and the demand for different languages is also growing.
