Brad Gushue has a 6-0 record at the 2022 World Men’s Curling Championship in Las Vegas. Gushue, Mark Nichols, Brett Gallant and Geoff Walker defeated Sixten Totzek of Germany 11-7. The four-time Canadian champions will face Nikas Edin of Sweden at 11a.m. and Kalle Kiiskinen of Finland at 9 p.m.

 

Nolan Ritchie and Jake Chiasson each had a goal and two assists as the Brandon Wheat Kings edged the Regina Pats 5-4 at Westoba Place. Mason Ward, Nate Danielson and Brett Hyland also scored for the Wheat Kings. Brandon netminder Ethan Kruger made 28 saves. The Wheat Kings, who have five games left, trail the Saskatoon Blades by five points in the race for fifth place in the Western Hockey League's Eastern Conference. Brandon does have two games in hand on Saskatoon.

 

The Winnipeg Goldeyes signed centre fielder Reggie Pruitt. The Kennesaw, Georgia native spent the 2021 season in the high minors of the Toronto Blue Jays’ organization, appearing in a combined 74 games for the Double-A Northeast’s New Hampshire Fisher Cats and the Triple-A East’s Buffalo Bisons. Pruitt enters his seventh season of professional baseball and was drafted by the Blue Jays in the 24th round out of Kennesaw Mountain High School (Kennesaw, Georgia) in 2015. The Goldeyes now have 21 players signed to contracts for the 2022 season. American Association clubs may carry up to 30 players during spring training, which begins May 5th.
