The back-to-back Grey Cup champion Winnipeg Blue Bombers will open their 2022 training camp Sunday, May 15th. Quarterbacks and CFL newcomers will be on the field for the opening of rookie camp on Wednesday, May 11th. Veterans are scheduled to report by Saturday, May 14th. Main camp begins the following day. The Bombers will play two preseason games...Monday, May 23rd against the Saskatchewan Roughriders at Mosaic Stadium in Regina and Friday, May 27th against the Edmonton Elks at IG Field.

The Brandon Wheat Kings lost their final home game of the regular season schedule 5-2 to the Moose Jaw Warriors. Nate Danielson and Nolan Ritchie did the goal scoring for the Wheat Kings who can finish now higher than fifth in the Western Hockey League’s Eastern Conference. Brandon will wrap up the regular season schedule with a pair of road games this weekend. The Wheat Kings face the Saskatoon Blades on Friday and the Prince Albert Raiders on Saturday. Brandon is three points back of the fifth place Blades who have just one game left.

The National Hockey League announced that the Winnipeg Jets game at Canada Life Centre against the Seattle Kraken scheduled for tonight has been postponed due to extreme weather conditions. The game has been rescheduled for Sunday, May 1st at 1 p.m. The Jets have eight games left and are seven points back of the Dallas Stars who hold down the second wildcard spot in the Western Conference. Winnipeg will play road games against the Florida Panthers on Friday and the Tampa Bay Lightning on Saturday.
