The Niverville Nighthawks lost 4-3 in a shootout to the Swan Valley Stampeders. Brendan Bottem, Braden Panzer and Josh Paulhus scored in regulation for the Nighthawks who received a 38-save performance from netminder Chris Fines. Grunthal’s Drayden Kurbatoff scored his third goal of the season in the OCN Blizzard’s 3-1 victory over the Winkler Flyers. St. Pierre’s Jayden Catellier made 25 saves as the Portage Terriers edged the Winnipeg Blues 3-2 in overtime.


Thomas Maynard scored in overtime to lift the St. Malo Warriors past the Lundar Falcons 5-4. Ashton Dubois, Damon Johnson, Aiden Peters and Teagan Fillion scored in regulation for the hometown Warriors who lead 3-2 after the first period and 4-2 after 40 minutes. The Beausejour Comets lost 5-4 to the Arborg IceDawgs. Dixon Moneas scored twice for the Comets while the rest went to Luke Tyslau and Aidan Ticknor.


Brock Couch, Eric Swanson and Carson Ouellette scored during a three-minute span late in the third period as the Warren Mercs defeated the Carman Beavers 11-8. Couch finished the night with a hat trick; Ouellette and Trent Genyk had two goals each while Cole Murdock, Riley Vatour and Chase Faulkner also scored for the defending SEMHL champions. Fraser Mirlees had a hat trick for the Beavers; Tanner Mole scored twice and singles went to AJ Nychuk, Daniel Paseschnikoff and Tyler Livingston. The Mercs lead 5-2 after the first period and 7-5 after 40 minutes.


The Brandon Wheat Kings fell 4-3 to the Tri-City Americans. Lukas Dragicevic potted the winner on the power play 3:11 into overtime for the Americans. Nate Danielson, Calder Anderson and Jake Chiasson did the goal scoring for the Wheat Kings who lead 3-1 seven minutes into the third period.


The Manitoba Moose dropped a 4-1 decision to the Texas Stars. Portage la Prairie’s Dean Stewart scored his first goal of the season for the Moose. Stars netminder Anton Khudobin made 36 saves.


Kerri Einarson will meet Satsuki Fujisawa of Japan and Brad Gushue will face Riku Yanagisawa of Japan in the semifinals of the Pan Continental Curling Championships in Calgary. Einarson and Gushue both finished with 7 and 1 round robin records.
