Steinbach Regional will kick off the 2023 Winnipeg High School Football League season against the Dakota Lancers on Friday, September 8th at A.D. Penner Park. The Sabres are in the WHSFL's newly aligned AAAA Conference's South East Division with the Lancers, Kelvin Clippers, Vincent Massey Trojans and Grant Park Pirates.

Reigning Manitoba champion Rhonda Orr is in a tie for sixth place heading into the final round of the 2023 Canadian Senior Women's Golf Championship at the Mill River Golf Resort in Woodstock, Prince Edward Island. Orr was 10-over par 82 Thursday and has a 36-hole total of plus 14. Mary-Ann Hayward of St. Thomas, Ontario and Judith Kyrinis of Thornhill, Ontario share the lead at plus seven. Tammy Gibson is in a tie for 38th place at plus 28. Lisa Benson (plus 41), Mary Turner (plus 47) and Heather Shayna (plus 47) missed the cut.
