Chariperson of the "Singin' in the Grain" committee, Pearl Braun-Dyck joined us on the AM1250 Morning Show today to talk about the virtual “Singin’ in the Grain” fundraising concert which is coming up on, Saturday, October 16, 2021, at 8:00 pm, Central Time.

Now, if you can't watch it at exactly that time, don't worry, the video will be available to be viewed later as well.

Since 2011 the “Singin’ in the Grain” committee has organized annual fundraising concerts to support the Canadian Foodgrains Bank. Thanks to COVID-19, the concert became a virtual event in 2020 and wow, was it ever a huge success!! So, we are delighted to invite you to another virtual Singin’ in the Grain concert this year!

AM1250's Michelle Sawatzky will host this musical event featuring three sets of talented musical guests who have offered their time and talents for you to enjoy in an hour of outstanding music. The Quonset Brothers from Winkler are back by popular demand. Quattro Grani is a quartet from Winnipeg featuring Matt Pauls, James Magnus-Johnston, Nolan Kehler, and Mike Wiebe. The musical duo of Kim Thiessen and Darryl Neustaedter Barg round out a lineup of wonderful musical talent.

We will also get to hear a short update from Andy Harrington, Executive Director of Canadian Foodgrains Bank.

We will also be given the opportunity to donate and it's important for you to know that all donations will go to the Canadian Foodgrains Bank for Mennonite Central Committee’s agricultural programs in Haiti, a country that has been devastated by numerous disasters over the years and as recent as the earthquake this past August. This development work will improve food security in Haiti in years to come.

Donate online at, or cheques can be mailed to:
