The Eastman Selects eight-game losing streak is over. Devon Schade had two goals and two assists as Eastman downed the Central Plains Capitals 7-5 on Saturday in Portage la Prairie. Riley Welsh also scored a pair of goals for the Selects while singles went to Kevin Smith, Dylan Hiebert and Dane Mistelbacher. Eastman goaltender Ryan Miner stopped 30 shots. The Selects, who scored four times with the manadvantage, led 2-1 after the first period and 5-3 after forty minutes. Eastman outshot Central Plains 40-35. The Selects, who won for the first time since blanking the Yellowhead Chiefs 3-0 back on November 20th, improved to 9-19. Eastman's next games is Sunday afternoon at the Sun-Gro Centre in Beausejour against the Norman Northstars.
