He feels more young people should be engaged in the political process.  Twenty one year old Justin Schinkel has announced his intention to run for Steinbach city council.  He hopes by adding his name to the ballot more young people will take an active role and come out and vote in the October election.  Schinkel is getting support from people of all ages and walks of life and this encouragement has been a great motivator.  Schinkel wants to be the people's councillor and represent their issues and their solutions.  His platform includes a promise to lobby the province to remove the education portion from our property tax bills.  He also wants the speed on Highway 12 north reduced, and more attention given to walking and cycling paths in the city.
