The Steinbach Regional Secondary School's hockey team is on a roll.

The SRSS won the Winkler Invitational High School Hockey Tournament for the second year in a row this past weekend.

Matthew Broesky, Eric Toews and Nolan Peters did the goal scoring as the Sabres defeated the defending Zone 4 High School Hockey League champion Morden Thunder 3-0 in the final.

Oliver Peters made 21 saves in recording the shutout.

The SRSS downed the Dryden Eagles 9-0 in the quarterfinals and edged the Northlands Parkway Nighthawks 2-1 in the semifinals.

The Sabres won their eighth straight Winnipeg High School Hockey League game on Monday night at East End Arena.

Ryan Friesen recorded a hat-trick and Tyler Bueckert added a pair of goals as Steinbach Regional downed College Pierre Elliott Trudeau 5-2.

Including tournaments, the Sabres have won 15 of their last 16 games.
