A major processing company has committed to keep its operations in the southeast.  Premier Peat Moss near Giroux had a fire last fall that leveled its warehouse and manufacturing facility.  They are currently rebuilding north of Richer.  RM of Ste. Anne Reeve Art Bergmann says this project and the long term benefits will keep as many as 40 local people employed.  He feels this commitment from Premier Peat Moss to stay local will be good for their company, good for the RM and good for the community.  Bergmann understands the company has an urgent need for local product so they are in overdrive to get their facility back on-line.
