Corporal Barry Penner on duty in Afghanistan.

With Remembrance Day happening tomorrow, we spent a lot of time remembering on today's AM1250 Morning Show. It was a pleasure to have Barry Penner from Steinbach stop by the studio to talk about his time in Afghanistan and how special and important it is that we not only remember the soldiers who went to war but family and friends that get left behind when their loved ones leave. He even mentioned that it's those who are back home who should get the "high fives" because he felt that he was in a routine and knew what was going on day to day, but his family at home had to deal with the unknown and the absence of their husband and son. However you choose to remember it -- it's important that we do and say "thank you" to those who risked and gave their lives for our freedom and our peace. Lest we forget. Just a reminder, AM1250 will have special programming all day tomorrow, including a moment of silence (2 minutes) at 11:00 a.m. Also, the Remembrance Day service in Steinbach will start at 10:30 at the Steinbach Junior High School. Have a great weekend.
