Two men were charged after being caught street racing in Steinbach over the weekend.
On Friday, just before midnight, Steinbach RCMP Municipal Traffic Services conducted a traffic stop on a BMW and Ford truck that were racing down Main Street.
Both vehicles were pulled over and both drivers were charged for racing and issued fines for $672 under the Highway Traffic Act. They will each have their driver's license suspended for seven days and their vehicle impounded for seven days. They will also have a license review by Manitoba Public Insurance.
Both men are 22 years old; one from Elma and the other from Brandon.
RCMP say that enforcement continued throughout the weekend with a total of 16 tickets issued for speeding and other offences.
