Authorities say a man from Neepawa, MB has been posing as a teenager online to communicate extensively with girls as young as 11 years old. The suspect was previously arrested for related charges and Mounties are very concerned there could be more young victims.

A 26-year-old man who was previously charged with Extortion, Possess Child Pornography, and Luring in April of last year is facing many more charges after authorities say he posed as a teenage boy on Snapchat. Authorities say he asked the girls, aged 11-17, for sexual photos and to meet with some of the girls in person.

“We are very concerned there may be other victims,” Cst. Gord Olson of the RCMP ICE Unit says in a statement. “We are asking anyone with information to contact their local police department. The suspect used numerous Snapchat user names.”

Snapchat usernames used include:

Authorities say in 2018, the man was charged with Extortion, Possess Child Pornography, and three counts of Luring and had conditions because of the charges. On April 18 of 2021, the suspect was arrested and charged during a traffic stop after breaking court-ordered release conditions. He has remained in custody since his April 28 arrest.

"The ICE Unit continued its investigation and discovered (the man) was communicating extensively with females under the age of 18," RCMP Manitoba says in a statement.

After a lengthy investigation, authorities are handing him 88 more charges.

“Unfortunately, we see children exploited every day," Olson says. "Children are vulnerable. We want to remind all caregivers to continually discuss online safety with their children as well as monitor their online activity to minimize their risk of being exploited."

The suspect's charges include:
