The MLA for La Verendrye believes Manitoban's priorites have been addressed by Wednesday's Provincial Throne Speech.

Ron Lemieux says provincial roads and highways will be getting a major boost with the pledge to spend $4 Billion on infrastructure over the next 10 years. He hints that Highway 59 will get a share of that pie when specific projects are announce in the days to come. Meantime he says other measures such as tax cuts will help the business community. Lowering the Education Support Levy, reducing property taxes for farmers and dropping small business and corporate income taxes are all areas his NDP government have worked hard to accomplish.

Meanwhile Steinbach Conservative MLA Kelvin Goertzen is skeptical about the Throne Speech, saying the NDP have broken so many promises made in the past seven years the Government has lost all credibility. Emerson Conservative MLA Jack Penner says the Throne Speech is clearly the last one before another election. His biggest concern is with the Conowapa Power Dam where the government has pledged $5 Billion for the project. Penner is not convinced the NDP have thought the whole thing through.
