Last month he was scoring goals in the Stanley Cup Playoffs, Monday he was talking with kids in Mitchell.  Dustin Penner, formerly of Winkler and now a member of the Anaheim Mighty Ducks spoke with students at Mitchell Middle School.  Penner told the students how as a young kid he nearly gave up on hockey because of his lack of size and talent.  But because he stuck with it he eventually caught a couple of breaks and today he's playing in the N-H-L.  His message to the students was to persevere even if you're an underdog.  Penner's connection to the school is through Teacher Bud Penner who happens to be his first cousin.  Penner is living in Winnipeg this summer and expects to report back to the Ducks in September.
