The Steinbach Pistons final game of 2011 was a 4-2 road loss to the Winkler Flyers on New Year's Eve. The Pistons, who were playing their first game since December 21st, rallied from a 2-0 deficit but gave up a pair of third period goals to the Flyers. Kyle Rous scored a power play goal with just three seconds remaining in the second period and Brady Bouchard then scored the equalizer 5:31 into the third for Steinbach. Jory Mullin got the winner for Winkler beating Pistons goaltender Zachary Rakochy at 7:02 of the final period. Rakochy stopped 44 shots. Steinbach hit the 40-game mark with a record of 12-24-4. The Pistons will play their first game of 2012 on Wednesday, January 4th against the Winnipeg Blues at the T.G. Smith Centre.
