Manitoba Hydro map indicating the area affected by the outage
Manitoba Hydro is reporting that over 1,000 customers between Lorette and Deacon’s Corner have been without power since 9:40 AM today.
A spokesperson for Manitoba Hydro says the outage was caused when a hydro pole suddenly ignited earlier this morning. The resulting short-circuit cut power to properties in the surrounding area. All services are expected to be restored by around 4 PM this afternoon.
