Niverville Fire Chief asks you to sign petition supporting volunteers

Niverville Fire Chief Keith Bueckert is asking you to sign a petition in support of Bill C-310. 

The petition is in support of increasing a tax rebate that volunteer firefighters and search and rescue volunteers all across Canada can claim. 

Right now they get a $3,000 tax rebate for volunteer firefighters, and they are hoping to get it increased to $10,000 across Canada. 

Bueckert says this bill will help encourage more people to volunteer, and for those already volunteering, will be a great way to say thank you. 

“It just helps with getting a little bit extra incentive for people to volunteer in their communities by this tax break that they're proposing right now, and for those people that have been doing it for a long time, just as a thank you.” 

You can sign the petition in support of Bill C-310 online by clicking here, or you can sign a physical copy at the Niverville Fire & EMS annual Perogy Dinner on Saturday, Nov 11th, from 5pm-7:30pm at the Golden Friendship Centre.
